Dr. E.V.Suranjan Maben

Dr. E.V.Suranjan Maben M.D.(Gen.Medicine) is not only a medical doctor by profession but also a true Christian in his faith and practice. At present he is the Professor and Head of the department of Medicine at the renowned A.J.Institute of Medical Sciences, Mangalore. He had his medical training at Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore and has been practicing medicine since 18 years. He has made a name for himself not only as a doctor who treats the body ailments but also a doctor of soul and heart. His strong Christian family background and upbringing have made him to be a doctor with concern, sympathy and love for his patients and others alike.

As a Christian who leads an exemplanary life, he has been very active in various church activities among children and youth. He was a Sunday school teacher for many years at Shanthi Cathedral Balmatta , Mangalore. He engages himself among the youth and leads them in biblical studies as and when he gets an opportunity.

He has conducted many activities for youth to lead them in true Christian life. He is a counselor and guide; par excellence; for many who seeks his help in spiritual and moral life. He is also well known as an excellent lay preacher in and around Mangalore churches. He has not only a very good knowledge in the Bible but also he puts them into practice in his life In midst of his taxing medical practice, he always finds time to preach and teach the Christian values.

His faith in Christian values has taken him to Germany as a member of youth team. He also had attended a meditation programme at Taize, France in his zeal for ministry for the youth. In his quest as a Biblical researcher he has undertaken St.Paul’s Missionary journey as well as journey to the holy land. Besides lending his healing touch to sick and frail, he will be leading a team of professionals to the Holy land in January 2010.

As a Physician who was nutured by Christian ideology and inspired by sacrificial service of medical missionaries I always feel that there is spiritual factor in Healing. God speaks to the doctors through the patients and doctors are the instruments in the Divine hands of God.
